JONNATA DOLL E OS GAROTOS SOLVENTES

Na periferia da cidade de Fortaleza, os filmes em VHS, as revistas em quadrinhos, as conversas com a tia Zu*, a locadora de videogames do pedófilo Senhor Walber, as histórias do punk Dedé Podre, a paixão platônica por uma tal Karine Pits, a formação evangélica… some a tudo isso, o CBGB, as imersões lúgubres de morfina, as experiências coletivas com cascola, os amores febris, o pensamento nômade e ainda  as idas à praia de Iracema, onde Jonnata Doll, nos anos 90, bolava um baseado sobre um livro de William Burroughs e avistava  a cena punk nova-iorquina . Filtre tudo isso e mande na veia.

Jonnata Doll & Os Garotos Solventes “mostram rock em estado bruto…”, diz uma manchete de uma matéria da Folha de São Paulo. O primeiro disco, que leva o nome da banda, veio em 2014, produzido e mixado por Yuri Kalil (Cidadão Instigado). Lançado na 19ª edição do RecBeat, um dos mais importantes festivais de música pop e experimental da América-Latina, o som é uma verdadeira efusão de rock n roll que vai do protopunk as bandas brasileiras, como Legião Urbana, onde Jonnata Doll é um dos convidados especiais da turnê, que celebra 30 anos de primeiro álbum. A revista Rolling Stone Brasil, celebrou a chegada do disco afirmando que “Iggy Pop deixou um discípulo perdido por Fortaleza”. O disco é considerado pela matéria como um dos principais destaques do rock nacional naquele ano.

Ao lado dos atuais garotos solventes , Edson Van Gogh (guitarra), Leo Breedlove (guitarra), Felipe Maia (bateria) e Joaquim loiro sujo (baixo), Jonnata Doll canta, dança, cai arrasta-se no palco, sobe no que vê pela frente, destila seu veneno nos ouvidos do público. Suas letras são ecos de literatura beat e de filmes de terror, misturados a uma biografia de excessos.

Desde 2009, quando a banda surgiu, até São Paulo, onde residem atualmente, Jonnata Doll & Os Garotos Solventes estão em constante movimento. Foram dezenas de shows, do underground ao Prata da Casa – SESC Pompéia – programas de TV, matérias em jornais e revistas, além de integrarem espetáculo teatral “Aquilo que me arrancaram foi a única coisa que me restou”, juntamente com a cia Motosserra Perfumada (SP).

No segundo semestre de 2016, lançaram pelo selo EAEO um disco ao vivo e o tão esperado segundo disco, “Crocodilo”, que foi co-produzido pelo renomado Kassin e novamente Yuri Kalil e conta com a participação de Fernando Catatau (Cidadão Instigado) e Dado Villa-Lobos (Legião Urbana).

On the outskirts of the city of Fortaleza, VHS movies, comic books, conversations with Aunt Zu *, the videogame rental shop of the pedophile Mr. Walber, the stories of punk Dedé Podre, the platonic passion for a certain Karine Pits, the evangelical formation… Add to all this, the CBGB, the morbid immersions of morphine, collective experiences with cascola, the feverish loves, the nomadic thought and even the trips to the beach of Iracema, where Jonnata Doll, in the 90’s, rolled a joint over a book cover by William Burroughs and sighted the New York punk scene. Filter all that and send it in the vein.

Jonnata Doll & Os Garotos Solventes “show rock in the raw state …”, says a headline in Folha de São Paulo. The first album, which bears the name of the band, came out in 2014, produced and mixed by Yuri Kalil (Cidadão Instigado). Launched in the 19th edition of RecBeat, one of the most important pop and experimental music festivals in Latin America, the sound is a veritable rock-n-roll outpouring from protopunk to Brazilian bands, such as Legião Urbana, where Jonnata Doll is one of the tour’s special guests, celebrating 30 years of their first album. The Rolling Stone Magazine Brazil celebrated the arrival of the album stating that “Iggy Pop left a lost disciple in Fortaleza”. The album was considered by the magazine as one of the main highlights of the national rock that year.

Alongside with the current band members, Edson Van Gogh (guitar), Leo Breedlove (guitar), Felipe Maia (drums) and dirty blond Joaquim (bass), Jonnata Doll sings, dances, falls on stage, climb on whatever he sees in from of him and distills its venom in the ears of the public. His lyrics are echoes of beat literature and horror films, mixed with a biography of excesses.

Since 2009, when the band emerged, to th days in São Paulo, where they currently reside, Jonnata Doll & Os Garotos Solventes kept moving constantly. There were dozens of concerts, from the underground to the Prata da Casa – SESC Pompéia – TV programs, newspaper and magazine articles, as well as the theatrical show “What I got ripped off was the only thing left for me”, along with the company Motosserra Perfumada (SP).

In the second half of 2016, EAEO Records released a live album and the long awaited second album, “Crocodilo”, which was co-produced by the renowned Kassin and again Yuri Kalil, and features the participation of Fernando Catatau (Cidadão Instigado) and Dado Villa-Lobos (Legião Urbana).
